Stealing the Truth – Heisler Moot Court and Advanced Constitutional Law

For the past 27 years, Monterey College of Law has presented an advanced Constitutional law class as part of the Heisler Moot Court.  The class focuses on appellate court oral advocacy.  This year’s class is called “Stealing the Truth.”  The class is held on Tuesdays, starting August 20, 2013 and running until late October.Who owns the State’s secrets?  The government doesn’t want its “secrets” disclosed and will go to great lengths to stop information leaks. What are the legal arguments for tighter controls over information? How far can the government go to stop the leaks? Who decides, and what legal lines do we draw under the Constitution? These are issues to explore in the Heisler Moot Court class.  The class ends in October 2013.  Student arguments will be publicly presented at the World Theater at CSUMB on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.
